Handwashing with soap and clean water remains one of the most effective ways to stop infections spreading, especially before eating and after using the toilet.
Drink water from a safe source, cover cooked food, and wash fruits and vegetables before eating them.
Cover your mouth with your elbow when coughing, and stay home when you are unwell so others are not exposed.
Keep vaccinations up to date for children, and speak with a clinician if you are unsure which ones are due.
